The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., at the junction of State Highway 4 & U.S. Highway 81 in Thayer County.  A propane tanker headed eastbound on Highway 4 was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 81 when it was struck broadside by a semi trailer truck.   The semi was headed south on Highway 81 at the time of the crash.  The cab of the semi ended up beneath the propane tanker.  The semi trailer truck was then struck by a southbound 2002 Chevy Cavalier.
