NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEBRASKA STATE PATROL www.nsp.state.ne.us Contact: Deb Collins 402-479-4985 November 12, 2009 Wayne Vehicle Check Results in Two DWI’s and 13 MIP’s(Wayne, NE)- An early morning vehicle check point in Wayne, Nebraska, resulted in two motorists arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and 13 juveniles cited for being Minors in Possession (MIP) of Alcohol.
The vehicle check point which took place on Main Street, between 12:45 a.m.-2:00 a.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009, was designed to curtail crash causing behaviors. A total of 64 contacts were made with 34 resulting in violations.
Two motorists were arrested for DWI, and 13 juveniles were cited for MIP. In addition citations and warnings were written for violations to include, No Proof of Insurance, No Seat Belt, and Failure to Signal.
The Nebraska State Patrol conducts vehicle check points in an effort to reduce traffic accidents and encourage the safe up keep and operation of motor vehicles on Nebraska roads. ###
