Headquarters Troop-Lincoln
to Hold Safety Saturdays Enforcement

(Lincoln, NE)- On Saturday, November 7, 2009, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop-Lincoln will hold the fifth in a series of statewide “Safety Saturdays” special initiatives.  Previous “Safety Saturdays” have been held in Troop E- Scottsbluff, Troop D-North Platte, Troop C- Grand Island and Troop A- Omaha.

Beginning in the evening hours on Saturday, November 7, 2009, Troopers with Headquarters Troop-Lincoln will adjust work schedules so that extra troopers are available to hold special enforcement efforts.

“Safety Saturdays coincides with the Nebraska-Oklahoma game,” said HQ Troop Commander, Captain Steve Ayres.  “In addition to working the issues that arise with the increased traffic, troopers will be concentrating on reducing crash causing behaviors such as impaired driving.”

High visibility patrols will be conducted throughout the counties covered by Headquarters Troop.   The counties covered include Butler, Cass, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, Saunders, Seward, and Thayer.

This is the 5th of six planned “Safety Saturdays” initiatives across the state.  A list of the remaining Troop Areas and scheduled dates is below.   Specific information on the planned enforcement activities can be obtained by contacting the Troop Area Headquarters:
