Crack Cocaine Seized during Traffic Stop

(Lincoln, NE)- A traffic stop on Interstate 80 near the Lincoln Airport Interchange in Lancaster County, Nebraska led to the seizure of over a half pound of crack cocaine and the arrest of three individuals traveling in two separate vehicles.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2009, a trooper observed two vehicles traveling together on Interstate 80 in Lancaster County.  A traffic stop was made on one of the vehicles, an eastbound red 2010 Chevy Malibu, for an improper lane change.  The second vehicle, a dark colored SUV continued on.

After a consent search of the Chevy was denied, an NSP canine was called in.   Prior to the arrival of the K-9, the female driver advised the trooper she had marijuana in the vehicle.  A probable cause search was then conducted.  Less than an ounce of marijuana and 8 ounces of crack cocaine were found in a bag of diapers in the trunk of the vehicle.  The crack cocaine has a street value of $30,000.

The second vehicle, a 1998 Lincoln Navigator was located at a truck stop at the Gretna Interchange on Interstate 80 with two individuals inside.  Further investigation revealed the three individuals in the two vehicles were traveling together.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu, 31-year-old Sophia Morris of Des Moines, Iowa was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on charges of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver, Conspiracy to Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana less than an ounce.

The driver of the 1998 Lincoln Navigator, 34-year-old Timothy Fulton, and a passenger, 27-year-old Ilia Walker, both of Denver, Colorado, were lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on charges of Conspiracy to Deliver Cocaine.
