NSP Police Service Dog Division
Honors Cuming County Organization

(Cuming County, NE)- Members of the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Police Service Dog (PSD) Division recently presented Bob Wostoupal, of the Friends of Baron Companion Animal Foundation with a certificate of appreciation and a framed set of PSD trading cards, in honor of the foundation’s generous donation and support of the PSD Division.

The Friends of Baron Companion Animal Foundation donated $7,500 for the purchase of NSP K9 Officer Eros.   Eros, a 2 ˝ -year-old German shepherd and his handler Trooper Rob Jackson, are stationed in Troop E and work out of the Kimball area.   The foundation also donated approximately $2,000 to purchase PSD trading cards for distribution by NSP Police Service Dog Teams around the state.

“Bob and the Friends of Baron Companion Animal Foundation are huge supporters of our Division,” said PSD Division Sgt. Lonnie Connelly.  “This is just a small token of our appreciation for all of the support Bob and his organization have given us.  We look forward to continuing our partnership and working with the Friends of Baron in the future.”

The Police Service Dog Division is a support division within the Nebraska State Patrol.  There are currently 12 PSD teams operating across the state.  The division utilizes dual purpose police dogs, trained in detection work, either drugs or explosives, and patrol work.  Patrol work consists of tracking, evidence recovery, apprehension, handler protection, crowd control, and area and building searches.
