123 Contacts Made During Cass County Enforcement

(Lincoln, NE)- Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop-Lincoln made 123 contacts and issued 24 citations issued during a special enforcement effort over the weekend in Cass County. 

Beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008 and continuing into the early morning hours on Sunday, May 25, 2008, troopers conducted high visibility saturation patrols focusing on impaired drivers in Cass County.

During the enforcement effort, three people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, one person was arrested for Driving Under Suspension and three people were cited for Possession of Marijuana less than One ounce.   Forty-two speeding citations and warnings were also issued, and 45 violation cards were written to include driver’s license, registration and equipment violations.

The Cass County selective was the second special enforcement effort held during the months of April and May, paid for thanks in part to a $12,000.00 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).  The first special enforcement effort was held in Gage County, the weekend of April 26-27, 2008.
