Patrol Prepares for St. Patrick’s Day Traffic

(Lincoln, NE) – The Nebraska State Patrol is planning special enforcement efforts over the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday.  Extra Troopers will be on patrol in an effort to crack down on incidents of drinking and driving and to reduce the potential for alcohol related crashes.
   Troopers will put in 118 overtime hours beginning Friday, March 14, 2008, through Monday, March 17, 2008. The special enforcement effort is paid for thanks in part to a $6,000.00 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).
   Special enforcement efforts will include saturation patrols, multi-agency sobriety checkpoints and DUI selectives.
