NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEBRASKA STATE PATROL www.nsp.state.ne.us Contact: Deb Collins 402-479-4985 February 29, 2008 Suspicious Behavior Leads to the Discovery of a Stolen Vehicle(Lincoln, NE) – A call to an Interstate-80 rest stop near Brady, Nebraska, led to the arrest of a Buffalo, New York man wanted on an active warrant, the recovery of a stolen vehicle and numerous stolen credit cards. Shortly before 3:00 a.m., Friday, February 29, 2008, a Trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol was dispatched to the westbound Interstate 80 rest area near Brady, Nebraska, in Lincoln County, on the report of a suspicious party. Upon arrival the Trooper encountered a single, silver, 2000 Cadillac, parked in the north lot of the rest area, with a male and female inside. A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Richmond, Virginia. Contact was made with the male and female occupants of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of five stolen Social Security cards, and several stolen credit cards. Taken into custody and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of Marijuana less than an Ounce, was 41-year-old James Scott of Buffalo, New York. Scott is also wanted on an active warrant out of New York State for a Parole Violation in connection with a felony burglary charge. A female passenger in the vehicle 31-year-old Linda Calderon of Buffalo, New York was also taken into custody and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Property.
