NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEBRASKA STATE PATROL www.nsp.state.ne.us Contact: Deb Collins 402-479-4985 February 14, 2008 Nebraska State Patrol Participates in Disaster Exercise(Lincoln, NE) – The Nebraska State Patrol Troop B Headquarters- Norfolk and Troop A Headquarters- Omaha, will join first responders from the Northeast Nebraska region in a disaster exercise Saturday, February 16, 2008. The Exercise which will focus on a simulated agricultural disease outbreak will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Wisner-Pilger High School in Wisner, Cumming, County, Nebraska. Representatives from the Nebraska State Patrol, the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nebraska Department of Roads, and the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, will participate along with representatives from the Salvation Army, and the Elkhorn/Logan Valley Public Health Department. “Training together allows us the opportunity to understand what each responder can bring to the table should a disaster occur,” said Troop B Captain Brad Rice. “I want to thank the Northeast Nebraska Emergency Managers for putting this exercise together.” The Nebraska State Patrol will dedicate a number of resources to the exercise, including the Mobile Command Post. The Northeast Nebraska Region includes first responders from Antelope, Burt, Cedar, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, Thurston, and Wayne Counties.
