Marijuana Seized in Troop E Traffic Stop

(Lincoln, NE) – A routine traffic stop on Interstate-80 led to the seizure of nearly 60 lbs. of marijuana and the arrest of a New York woman for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
   Around 4:40 p.m. (MT), on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop E Headquarters Scottsbluff stopped an eastbound Toyota Camry near mm 29 on Interstate 80 in Kimball County.   The Trooper was given consent to search the vehicle.  During the search three large black suitcases in the trunk of the vehicle were found to contain 59.6 lbs. of marijuana.  The marijuana was packaged in individual vacuum sealed bags.  The marijuana has an estimated street value of $50,000.00.
   The driver of the car 27-year-old Ava Fiore of Bayside, New York was lodged in the Kimball County Jail on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
