Special Selective Planned for Cass & Otoe Counties

(Lincoln, NE) – The Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop-Lincoln will conduct a special selective on Saturday, January 26, 2008, in Cass & Otoe Counties.  Troopers will put in overtime hours in an effort to keep impaired drivers off our state’s roadways.
   The special selective will increase patrols in Cass & Otoe Counties in the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday, January 26.  The increased enforcement is paid for thanks in part to the $1,200.00 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).
  This is the fourth year NSP Headquarters Troop-Lincoln has increased patrols in Cass & Otoe Counties during the last weekend in January.  The special enforcement coincides with the annual Avoca Days “Quack Off” Celebration.  Similar selectives resulted in arrests for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Speeding, Open Container and various other violations ranging from Driving Under Suspension to Seat Belt usage.
